ක්ලේමෝ බෝම්බයක් පුපුරා සියල්ල එක මොහොතකින් විනාශ වී ගියාක් වැනි හැඟීමක් දැනෙද්දී මම අතෙහි වූ ජංගම දුරකථනය දෙස බලා සිටියෙමි. එහි තිරය මත හිනැහෙමින් සිටි රුව දුටු විට මට දැනුණේ හුස්ම ද නවතින්නට එන සෙයකි. දෑත් දෙපා වෙව්ලද්දී මම සයනය මතට කඩා වැටුණෙමි. දුරකථනය ගිලිහී මෙට්ටය මතට වැටුණත් එහි තිරයෙන් දෙනෙත් මුදා ගැනීමට මම අපොහොසත් වූයෙමි.
“ශෙනායා බණ්ඩාර වන මම, නෙලුක දහනායක යන අය සැමියා ලෙස භාර ගන්නා අතර දුකේදීත් සැපේදීත් ඔහු සමඟ සිටිමි..”
මින් වසර හයකට පෙර සිනාමුසුව, ලැජ්ජාශිලීව මිමිණූ වදන් මගේ සවනේ දෝංකාර දෙන්නට විය.
“ආයෙමත් එන්න බබා.. ප්ලීස්.. මාව දාලා යන්න එපා.. මම කොහොමද ඔයා නැතුව හුස්ම ගන්නේ..”
දෙදිනකට පෙර හැඬුම්මුසුව පැවසූ ඔහුගේ වදන් ද මගේ මනස මුමුණන්නට වූයේ සරදමක් ලෙසිනි.
දෙදිනකට පෙර මා නොමැතිව හුස්ම ගැනීමට නොහැකි බව පැවසූ මගේ සැමියා වෙනත් යුවතියක හා අතිනත බැඳී සිටිනවා දකින්නට මම පව්කාර වුණෙමි.
එහෙත්… එහෙත්… ඔහු වැරදි යැයි ඔහුට බැණ වදින්නට මට නොහැකි ය. වෙව්ලන දෑත ආයාසයෙන් වාරු කරගෙන මම ජංගම දුරකථන තිරය මත පෙනෙන නෙලුකගේ මුහුණ පිරිමැද්දෙමි. ඡායාරූපය විසල් කරමින් පරීක්ෂා කර බැලුවේ ඔහු සැබෑම සෙනෙහසකින් ඇය හා සිටින්නේද නැතිනම් මවාගත් සිනාවකින් සිටින්නේද යන්නයි.
“එයා බොරුවට හිනාවෙන්නේ.. ඇත්තටම හිනා වුණා නම් කම්මුල් වළ ගැහෙනවා.. ඇත්තටම බැඳලා නැතුව ඇති..”
මම මිමිණුවෙමි.
විශාලව ඇති ඡායාරූපයේ, මංගල ඇඳුමෙන් සැරසී සිටින යුවතියගේ බඳ වටා එතුණු ඔහුගේ දෑත් දකින විට මම දුරකථනය ඉවතට විසි කළේ සර්පයෙකු ගැටුණාක් බඳුවය. මට හඬන්නට අවැසි විය. නෙලුකට බැණ වදින්නට අවැසි විය. දැන් දැන් සිහිසුන්ව බිම ඇද වැටෙයි සිතිණි. මට මාවම මරා ගන්නට ද සිතිණි. එහෙත් කිසිත් කර කියා ගත නොහැකිව සිරුරම ගල් වී තිබිණි. හඬා ගන්නට ද නොහැකිව වේදනා දෙන ළය මම දෝතින්ම බදා ගත්තෙමි.

වසර නමයකට පෙර මගේ පෙම්වතා වූ වසර හයකට පෙර මගේ සැමියා වූ, මින් මාස දෙකකට පෙර දික්කසාදයෙන් වෙන්ව ගිය මගේ හදවතේ අයිතිකාරයා වූයේ ඔහු ය. දික්කසාද වුවත් අද වෙනතුරුම ඔහු යළි මා සොයා පැමිණේවි යැයි බලා සිටි සිහිනය සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම බිඳී ගොස් තිබිණි.
බිදී තිබූ හදවත කුඩු පට්ටම්ව ගියේ ඔහුගේ නව මංගල ඡායාරූපය සමඟිනි. මෙතෙක් කලක් වේදනාවන්ට ඔසුවක් වූයේ ඔහු ය. එම ඔසුවම වසක් වූ කල මා කුමක් කරන්න ද..? ළය තද කර ගත්වනම මම සයනය මත වැතිරී ගියේ ඈත්ව ගියත් එකිනෙකා අත් හැර ගත නොහැකි වූ අපේ කතාව සිහි කරමිනි.
